Mar 4, 2011 – It’s the start of a new Piggz SS season and the question is “Can SER’s Rick Turcic win 5 championships in a row?” Well it was a good start. Rick qualified on the outside of the second row at Piggzcreek SS. SER’s Ghost driver (Bob) qualified 5th, Rob Scott 9th and Jeff Loudermilk 13 in the 20 car field. Ghostie was the first driver to lead a lap on lap 14. Rob (despite being caught up in a wreck) led lap 26 and Jeff although running in second with just a few laps to go never took the point. The highlight of the race was the last green flag run. Rick took the lead on lap 28 and was running upfront when a caution came out resulting in a 3 lap shootout. On the restart Rick led, Jeff was 2nd, Ghostie 4th with Steve Zaker in third. Zaker tried to squeeze between Rick and Jeff making contact with Jeff sending him up the track and out of the hunt. On the final lap Zaker was touched by C Kendall #38 sending him spinning which allowed Rick and Ghost to a 1-2 finish to start the season. Jeff came home 7th and Rob 9th.
